This Privacy Policy ("Policy") outlines how Kenya National Innovation Agency ("Agency," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information of users ("you" or "your") who access and use the Presidential Innovation Award System (the "Platform"). We use the personal information you provide to process your participation in the Presidential Innovation Award System, evaluate your startup's eligibility, and communicate with you regarding your application.

We may use your personal information to contact you about updates, news, and information related to the Platform, including notifications about the application process and award announcements.

We may also use aggregated, anonymised data for research and analysis purposes to improve the Platform and enhance our understanding of innovation trends.

We may use the information provided for additional purposes such as complying with legal and statutory requirements, reporting, responding to queries and concerns, in KeNIA's other websites and platforms for related business purposes.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share your personal information with the panel of judges ("Jury") responsible for evaluating your startup's application. The Jury will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to protect the confidentiality of your information.

We may disclose your personal information to relevant third parties such as law enforcement agencies, courts, regulatory authorities, government databases , our partners, agents and any other person that we will deem legitimate and necessary to share this data with in the course of our business.

Any and all such disclosure will be done in accordance with the law of the Republic of Kenya.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

While we take steps to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet. You provide your personal information at your own risk.

By sharing and displaying the third-party website and social media links provided by the applicants, we do not endorse or approve or recommend any products or services on those websites and that it is merely for information purposes or for jury purposes that the links are attached. KeNIA is not affiliated to such third party websites (unless we state the contrary).

Changes to the Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The most current version of the Policy will be posted on the Platform with the effective date.
